Why Rooted Exists
Rooted didn't begin as a business plan.
It began with the belief that healthcare should feel human.
Over the years, I noticed a shift in my work as a physical therapist. Visits became shorter. Schedules became fuller. Productivity expectations continued to rise. There was more driving, more documentation, more phone calls, and less meaningful one-on-one time with the people I became a physical therapist to serve.
The workday didn't end when I got home.
Instead of sleeping, I found myself thinking about the documentation I still needed to finish, the long drive between patients the next morning, and the list of physicians I still needed to call. My mind never seemed to slow down. The constant push to do more while feeling like I was giving less became exhausting.
It wasn't because I stopped loving physical therapy.
In fact, it was the opposite.
I loved it so much that it became increasingly difficult to practice in a system where time, the very thing patients needed most, was becoming harder to give.
The problem wasn't the therapists. It wasn't the nurses. It wasn't the patients.
The problem was time.
I remember leaving patients' homes knowing there was more I wanted to do.
More education I wanted to provide. More questions I wanted to answer. More time simply listening.
They deserved it, and I wanted to give it, but the clock was always ticking toward the next visit. That never sat right with me.
Eventually, I realized I couldn't change the entire healthcare system.
But I could change the way I practiced within it.
That realization became Rooted.
Rooted exists to protect the parts of healthcare I never wanted to compromise: time, whole-body wellness, individualized care, authentic relationships, and truly listening to each person's story.
Starting a business was never part of my original plan. Looking back, though, I can see that it led me to the most authentic version of physical therapy I've ever known.
At Rooted, physical therapy isn't rushed. Every visit is one-on-one and centered around the whole person, not just a diagnosis. We believe movement is medicine, education is powerful, and lifelong health comes from a mindset of prevention and addressing the whole system.
Our goal isn't simply to help people recover from an injury or manage pain. Our goal is to help people stay independent, stay active, and continue doing the things they love for as long as possible.
Thank you for being here.
Whether you're a patient, a caregiver, another healthcare professional, or simply someone interested in living well, I hope The Rooted Journal becomes a place where you'll find encouragement, practical guidance, and honest conversations about health, movement, and living well.
Welcome to Rooted.
